Young Professionals ReStore Day

Building strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter, Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia is excited to partner with our Young Professionals in volunteering at our ReStore in service in need of affordable housing.

Please sign up for your shift using the sign-in at the bottom of this page. After signing up for your shift, please fill out our Volunteer Waiver using the same email address and name you used to sign up. We are looking forward to having you at our ReStore soon!

Parking
Our ReStore has a parking lot, but we try to keep parking spots open for paying customers. We ask that all volunteers find street parking in the area, which should be readily available around the block.

Upon Arrival
When you arrive at the ReStore, please go straight to the front desk, and talk to a staff member to sign in and ensure all waivers have been completed, and create a name tag if desired. Depending on the city's COVID Level, you may be required to sign our COVID-19 waiver prior to your first shift.

Volunteer Activities
Your volunteer activities will be in one of the following capacities, among others:

Cleaning- Ensuring all surfaces are wiped down every 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Furniture Assembly- Depending on our inventory, you may be assembling furniture in the ReStore loading dock or basement

During your shift, the ReStore will be holding a Yard Sale to purge some of the items in stock that are not up to our usual ReStore standards. For this event, we need help from our volunteers to move items, price them, and facilitate their sale as directed by ReStore staff. Your presence would make this event run smoothly!

Important Reminders:

You are required to bring your own face mask if you desire or are required to wear it. We have KN-95 masks available as needed. Face mask requirements are subject to change due to city and CDC guidelines.
Please bring your own refillable water bottle and lunch (if applicable- lunch will need to be eaten in your car or outdoors socially distanced).
Wear clothes you don't mind getting a little dirty and closed-toe shoes.

COVID-19 related precautions shift and change based on city and CDC recommendations. Regardless of these recommendations, we ask that volunteers follow the following protocols:

Maintain a distance of 6’ or more from other workers
Wash hands frequently
Understand that failure to abide by guidelines will result in dismissal from the ReStore
